Thank you for all of your support over the past ten years!
As we look toward the next ten, we’re reflecting on how grateful we are to be part of such a rich, abundant, and creative ecosystem of artists, listeners, and curious-minded-thinkers, and how grateful we are that you are part of it as well.

As we continue to dream, we’re inviting you to dream with us and to help make the next ten years of TAK the most exciting and wild yet!

When you support TAK, your contribution strengthens every aspect of our organization, from our self-produced concerts, collaborations, and commissions, to our presenting and curatorial work with SWOONFEST and TAK Editions. We approach every TAK project with care and conscious consideration about how our work will elevate not just our own artistry as a group of five, but the incredible network of artists and community builders that surround us.

We love what we do, and in order to live in a world where this work continues to be possible, we need your help. With your support, we have been fortunate in recent seasons to have experienced tremendous growth, and this has allowed us to achieve some truly wild dreams. From our self produced concerts, commissioning work, educational residencies, and workshops, to presenting artists we love through SWOONFEST and the TAK Editions Podcast, we can’t wait to keep the energy going!

TAK is incredibly thankful to our artistic ecosystem for making 2023 our most fruitful year yet. Because of all of you, we:

• Premiered commissioned works by Eric Wubbels, DM R (with Joy Guidry), Michelle Lou, Bryan Jacobs

• Conducted residencies at University of Southern California and Cornell University, as well completing our second semester as University of Pennsylvania’s Long-term Visiting Ensemble in Residence, and spending a week at The Walden School’s Young Musician Program.
Through these residencies we premiered 31 new incredible works.

• Performed at fabulous venues in the Midwest and California, as well as here in NY, where we performed some of our favorite long-form works by Michelle Lou, Eric Wubbels, Brandon Lopez, and our very own Charlotte Mundy.

• Celebrated our 10 year anniversary & launched SWOONFEST, a two-day festival featuring stunning performances by Phong Tran; HxH (Lester St. Louis & Chris Williams); DMR (with Joy Guidry); Natacha Diels; gabby fluke-mogul, Tcheser Holmes, Mara Rosenbloom; Michelle Lou; and Sour Spirit.

• Released a new season of podcasts featuring conversations with Nina Dante & Bethany Younge; Catherine Lamb; Kier Gogwilt and Johnny Chang; gabby fluke-mogul; Chris Williams; Natacha Diels; Sour Spirit; Michelle Lou; Phong Tran; sinonó

None of this would be possible without our small and mighty community of donors, none of this would be possible without you. When you contribute to TAK, you’re supporting the entire artistic ecosystem inside which we are intertwined; you’re supporting the incredible professional artists we commission and split bills with, the students we work with, the musical discourse and record we create with our podcast and record label, TAK Editions, and so much more.

& what’s on TAK horizon for the coming year? We’re looking forward to:
Commissions from Weston Olencki, Jessie Cox, Ann Cleare, Elaine Mitchener, Raven Chacon, and our co co-composed work
Our latest album out on TAK editions with works by Tyshawn Sorey, Bethany Younge, Lewis Nielson, Golnaz Shariatzadeh, and Eric Wubbels
• Residency performances at University of Huddersfield, University of Chicago, and Princeton University
Performances in our home of New York, as well as in Dublin, Manchester, London, and across Canada.
• The beautiful planning stages for SWOONFEST 2025
and so much more that we can’t wait to share with you once it’s all good to make public.

We’re so thankful to each of you for your support, for your listening, and for your care over the past ten years! We can’t wait to share the next 10 years with you & with the beautiful and treasured artistic community of which we are so thankful to be a part. Ever dollar contributed means the world to us, and makes the important work of art-making possible!
LOVE,
TAK
